my friend malone mills makes very cool videos. and as much as she's an amazing visual artist, she's also a warrior of the truest kind. malone has woken up. she sees what's really going on in this world, with our planet, with advertising and media and greed and government and advises us all to "stay in a good yet unruly mood as we overthrow the cockeyed mass hallucination that is mistakenly referred to as reality." so don't be a sheep. don't follow the masses. think for yourself. make your art. be original. question authority, don't eat meat or wear fur and for all our sake's....wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up.

what an honor the artivist film festival was! this film festival marries art and activism and has the most interesting films that actually make a difference.  kristen bell was the honoree and her friend rachel bilson introduced her. they were both lovely and sweet and smart and well-informed.  i have to say i was very impressed with kristen bell's commitment to vegetarianism and to animal welfare and to the environment. she's not only beautiful, but she has a brain and is committed to justice and making this world a better place for all. i was one of the few ladies wearing pants and boots, though i did manage to rock my canvas stella mccartney boots...and how do you like my side braid?!! please check out the festival and watch these films online, they are really worth the effort. these FILMMAKERS are CHANGING lives. xo, am all photos: billy bennight.

jackson davis, jackson stewart, david melville, michael piccirilli and jason mason. grrrrrrr....and they are all so talented. jackson davis is an actor who was on the first webisode series LG(LonelyGirl), jackson stewart is a musician, david melville runs a most well-known outdoor shakespeare company in los angeles called independent shakespeare, michael piccirilli was in the sundance film obselidia and jason mason is an actor, dj and creator extraordinaire. i think working with actors is perhaps one of the best parts about making movies and we were so blessed on perfection to have such talented actors, the men and the women. my costume designer tamar michelle did such a great job on the film and i will be doing an interview this month with her on how she began as a costume designer. so stay tuned! photos by stephanie sea, paul mocey-hanton and tamar michelle. xo, am happy wednesday.
