i finished reading
patti smith's memoir, 'just kids' and it's fantastic! it totally lives up to the praise and acclaim it's receiving. patti smith is such an icon in fashion and in music and her memoir reads like a childhood 'hansel and gretel' as the ny times review states. the memoir is about patti's life starting in new york when she arrives as an aspiring artist and finishes with her life after the death of her beloved best friend/lover/muse robert mapplethorpe. 'just kids' is a beautiful love story to her best friend, as well as a love story to being an artist and being true to oneself. photos:
